Heart Announces Rescheduled North American Tour Dates In 2025

Heart Announces Rescheduled North American Tour Dates In 2025

Following Heart's postponement of their 2024 tour due to Ann Wilson undergoing cancer treatment, the band has just announced rescheduled dates for their North American tour that will take place in early 2025. The singer for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group has spent the last few months undergoing treatment for cancer, including preventive chemotherapy. And hopefully, the just announced tour dates are a good sign that Wilson is healthy and recovering quickly. Heart’s rescheduled Royal Flush Tour now officially gets underway on February 28th in Las Vegas and runs through April 5th in Quebec.

“We are so so excited to resume this tour,” said guitarist Nancy Wilson in a press release. “We were just starting to fire on all cylinders and the vibe was entirely MAJOR. To be continued…” Heart made their new tour announcement with a post on Instagram on Monday (September 9) that was soundtracked by their 1975 debut single in the United States, “Crazy On You.” The band captioned their post, “We can’t wait to resume the Royal Flush Tour in 2025! We hope to see all of you good people there! Tickets on sale now at heart-music.com.” (Consequence of Sound)

Oasis’ Debut Album, ‘Definitely Maybe,’ Reclaims U.K. No. 1 Spot After 30 Years

Oasis’ Debut Album, ‘Definitely Maybe,’ Reclaims U.K. No. 1 Spot After 30 Years

Following the public excitement and interest generated by their just announced reunion, Oasis’ celebrated debut album, Definitely Maybe, has made a triumphant return back to the top of the U.K. Official Albums Chart 30 years after its original release back in 1994. Definitely Maybe debuted at No. 1 three decades ago, and returned to top of the chart thanks to the release of its 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, which features previously unreleased studio sessions and demo versions. This is the first time in 14 years that Oasis, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, have topped the U.K. Official Albums Chart.

Back in 2010, their greatest hits compilation, Time Flies... 1994–2009, debuted at No. 1 on the charts, and due to the hype surrounding the Oasis reunion announcement and their immediately sold-out tour dates, the 6x-platinum best-of compilation has rocketed back up the charts to No. 3. In fact, three Oasis albums have entered the Top 5 of the U.K. Official Albums Chart this week, as their beloved 1995 album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? also reached No. 4. (Billboard)

It has been six long years since Radiohead last played a concert together, and the band’s members are currently busy with a variety of different side projects, but news of the guys getting together to play music again is encouraging for their dedicated, patient fans. “We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs,” Greenwood revealed. “And it was really fun, had a really good time. We’re still talking all the time, we just need to make a plan and get some time together sorted out in advance.”

Greenwood is going to spend the next few months touring as a member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, filling in for bassist Martyn Casey. While Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist Jonny Greenwood are releasing their latest album as The Smile, Cutouts, on October 4th, with Yorke also heading out on a rare solo tour later this year. Judas Priest’s Rob Halford Says He Has No Plans To Ever Retire

During a recent interview with Iowa’s Rock 108 to promote Judas Priest’s forthcoming North American tour this fall, the band's frontman Rob Halford said he has no plans to stop rocking now or anytime in the future. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers released their 19th studio album, Invincible Shield, in March of 2024, and have been on the road touring relentlessly in support of the record.

“I think if your desire is still there, if your passion is still there, if you can still deliver the [goods],” says Halford. “As long as it looks good and sounds good and all the other pieces are in place, why would you want to retire?  I wouldn’t know what to do with my life if I suddenly couldn’t do this beautiful work. I need to do it. It’s part of me that I need to do to live as a person because I love it so much. And I think I’m speaking for everybody in Priest. And that’s the leading light that pushes through. That’s what keeps you carrying on.” Judas Priest kicks off their upcoming tour on Friday, September 13th in Montreal. (Consequence of Sound)

Patti Scialfa Discloses Cancer Battle During Husband Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Road Diary’ Documentary

The premiere of Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took place at the Toronto Film Festival on Sunday (September 8), and during the documentary E Street bandmember Patti Scialfa opens up about her recent cancer struggle. The 71-year-old Scialfa shares in the film about being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, back in 2018. The cancer diagnosis and the treatment that followed resulted in Scialfa significantly scaling back her public appearances with her husband, Bruce Springsteen, and her live performances with the band over the past few years.

“This affects my immune system, so I have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go,” Scialfa says in the documentary. “Every once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs on stage, and that’s been a treat. That’s the new normal for me right now, and I’m OK with that.” Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is set to premiere on the streaming services Hulu and Disney+ on October 25. Herbie Flowers, Celebrated Bassist Who Played With Lou Reed, David Bowie, Elton John, and Paul McCartney, Dies At 86

Flowers was a celebrated session musician who was also a member of the final lineup of T. Rex as well as a founding member of the group Blue Mink, whose 1969 debut single, "Melting Pot," was a No. 3 hit on the UK Singles Chart. Flowers is perhaps best known for playing the instantly recognizable bassline on Lou Reed’s 1973 Top 20 hit, “Walk on the Wild Side,” as well as playing bass on David Bowie’s 1969 Top 15 hit, “Space Oddity.”

David Gilmour Made His New Album ‘Luck and Strange’ Into A Family Affair

David Gilmour Made His New Album ‘Luck and Strange’ Into A Family Affair

David Gilmour released his new record, Luck and Strange, on September 6. The legendary guitarist/songwriter/singer for Pink Floyd leaned on his family for inspiration on the 9-track record, which the 78-year-old musician referred to in the press kit as, “the best album I’ve made since Dark Side of the Moon, since 1973.” Gilmour’s wife Polly Samson published a novel, A Theatre For Dreamers, the week that the pandemic lockdown hit in 2020. Their son Charlie hatched an idea of Gilmour doing livestream performances, which featured some Leonard Cohen covers, who was a character in Samson’s book.

“It started pretty much only on Polly’s book as a focus, but then it became broader,” Gilmour recalls. “We got our daughter Romany to sing along and play with me, and that showed me that we have got that lovely sort of family tonality that happens — Beach Boys, Everly Brothers. All these things came together to create a different mood and a different feeling for the making of this album. It left me feeling I don’t need to stick with any pre-rule book or anything that’s gone before. I can be freer to do anything I feel like.” (Billboard)

Jerry Cantrell Shares New Song, “Afterglow,” And Releases Music Video

Jerry Cantrell has just released, “Afterglow,” the second single shared from his upcoming album, I Want Blood. The new song from the legendary Alice In Chains guitarist is also accompanied by a music video that was created by Cantrell and visual artist Matt Mahurin. “Two of my all-time favorite videos I’ve directed are ‘No Excuses’ and ‘Angry Chair’ for Alice In Chains in the early 1990s,” stated Mahurin. “To be able to once again offer my visual work to Jerry’s ‘Afterglow’ some thirty years later was a blast. From opera aria to pop tune, everybody sees a movie playing in their mind’s eye when they listen to a song. Jerry inspired a welcome fever dream that I was grateful to lure out of my mind’s eye.”

“The incredible Matt Mahurin and I created a moving piece of film to accompany the song,” Cantrell added. “Check it out. If you want blood, you got it.” I Want Blood will be released on October 18th, featuring contributions from Duff McKagan, Robert Trujillo, Mike Bordin, and Greg Puciato. New Linkin Park Vocalist Faces Criticism For Supporting Danny Masterson

During a live performance event on Thursday (September 5), Linkin Park announced they were reuniting. Their new lineup features singer Emily Armstrong of the band Dead Sara, and drummer Colin Brittain, who joins the group to replace Rob Bourdon, who chose not to be part of the reunion. Linkin Park also shared a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” the band’s first new music in seven years, which will be featured on their upcoming album, “From Zero,” due out on November 15. They also announced new tour dates for the updated lineup.

Armstrong received criticism for supporting Danny Masterson during his 2020 trial for sexual assault. “Hi, I’m Emily. I’m new to so many of you, and I wanted to clear the air about something that happened a while back,” Armstrong wrote in her Instagram Story. “Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since. I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes.” (Billboard)

Tom Morello Is Pushing For Iron Maiden To Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Tom Morello Is Pushing For Iron Maiden To Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

During a recent appearance on the Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz podcast, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello put his support behind Iron Maiden to eventually be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The British heavy metal giants have been eligible for the Rock Hall since 2005, and were nominated for induction back in 2021 and 2023. Morello thinks that Maiden has waited long enough.

"Mother-flippin' Maiden, dude! That's been on the top of my list for a while," he said. "I feel very, very fortunate that they let me into that — I'm not sure how fortunate they feel — but I feel very fortunate that they let me into that room to make my case for the Randy Rhoads'es and the Kiss'es and the Stevie Ray Vaughans, Rush, Judas Priest and MC5 — but Maiden's next."

For his part, Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is less enthused about the prospect. "Rock 'n' roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland," he has been quoted as saying. "It's a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it's dead. It's worse than horrible, it's vulgar." (Ultimate Classic Rock)

The members of the celebrated 1960s rock band the Guess Who have finally settled a prolonged trademark lawsuit that dates back decades.
