Queen’s Brian May has just revealed that he suffered a stroke last week, and as a result the legendary guitarist also temporarily lost the use of his left arm. Sir Brian disclosed his health scare in an Instagram reel on Tuesday (September 3), giving fans an update on his condition in the clip while flexing the fingers on his left hand to let everyone know he was slowly improving.

“I’m here to bring you some good news — the good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days,” May shared. “I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke. It was a little scary, I have to say.” May went on to reveal that he lost control of his left arm “out of the blue” because of the stroke, but said that the “fantastic care” he received from the doctors and medical staff has him healing quickly. “I really don’t want sympathy,” May said. “Please don’t do that because it’ll clutter up my inbox and I hate that.” (Consequence of Sound)
