Why It Matters

Families right here in our community are facing tough choices between groceries, gas, and bills. Feeding South Dakota serves neighbors across our state with mobile food distributions, food pantries, and partnerships that get meals where they’re needed most. Your gift—food or funds—stays local and helps keep shelves stocked through the seasons.

Every dollar goes further when pooled with Feeding South Dakota’s bulk purchasing power.

What To Donate (Most‑Needed Items)

Shelf‑stable, non‑perishable foods that are unopened and within date:

Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, salmon, beans)
Nut butters
Hearty soups, chili, stew
Canned fruits & vegetables (low sodium/low sugar when possible)
Pasta, rice, instant potatoes, mac & cheese
Breakfast items (oatmeal, cereal)
Shelf‑stable milk, boxed meals, sauces

Please avoid: Glass containers, perishable/refrigerated/frozen foods, open or severely dented cans, homemade items, and expired products.
