🔥 The Black Hills Could Be Facing One of the Worst Fire Seasons in Years
And when the smoke rises… firefighters run toward it.
They don’t get to pick the easy days.
They don’t get to clock out when it gets tough.
They just keep showing up—protecting our homes, our land, and our communities.
This year, forecasts are already pointing to a dangerous wildfire season across the Black Hills. Long hours. Extreme heat. Unpredictable conditions.
And in the middle of all of it… it’s the small things that can make a big difference.
👨🚒 Introducing: Help Our Heroes
Supporting Those Who Face the Flames
Riverfront Broadcasting is proud to launch Help Our Heroes—a community-wide firefighter supply drive supporting the men and women battling wildfires across the Black Hills.
We’re collecting essential items that help keep our firefighters fueled, hydrated, and going strong when it matters most.
Because when they show up for us… this is one way we can show up for them.
🧃 What to Donate
We’re currently collecting easy-to-grab, high-energy items that firefighters can use on the front lines:
- Bottled water
- Sports drinks
- Individually packaged snacks
- Protein bars
- Trail mix
- Beef jerky
If it’s new, portable, non-perishable, and helps keep energy up—it helps.
📍 Where to Drop Off Donations
You can drop off items now through May 22nd at:
- Riverfront Broadcasting Rapid City Studios: 1116 Jackson Blvd
- Riverfront Broadcasting Spearfish Studios: 2827 East Colorado Blvd
Donations will be distributed to multiple fire departments and crews serving the Black Hills.
❤️ Want to Do More?
We’re exploring additional ways to support local firefighters—including options for expanded or online monetary donations—so check back soon for updates.
In the meantime, every bottle, every snack, every small act of support adds up.
Let’s rally together for the people who face the flames head-on and support those who show up… no matter what.
